Available Slates

PENRHYN HEATHER BLUE WELSH SLATE ( SAWN OR FINE RUBBED)

Penryhn heather blue Welsh slate is available in large slabs up to 1.500 x 850mm in 20mm (3/4"), 25mm (1"), 50mm (2") and 75mm (3"). Heather blue varies in cvolour and has natural markings (normally green). The slate in is cambrian and passes BS680 and the SI classification (expected use of 75 - 100 years) testing to ASTM.

ABERLLEFENNI WELSH SLATE ( SAWN OR FINE RUBBED)

Aberllefenni welsh slate is still avaialable but in small sizes to make nameplates and small plaques. This slate is still the favourite for letter cutters and sculptors.

FFESTINIOG BLUE GREY WELSH SLATE (SAWN OR FINE RUBBED)

Ffestiniog blue grey slate is available in large slabs up to 1500 x 750 in 20mm (3/4"), 25mm (1"), 50mm (2") and 75mm (3"). The slate is ordovician and passes BS680 and the SI classification (expected use of 75 - 100 years) testing to ASTM.
