Slate is an extremely versatile products and so is ideal for domestic use. Such use within the home has become more and more popular in recent times. Again all these products are made especially to order.
Hearths
Slate hearths can be cut to any size required and are suitable for all types of fireplaces from wood burning stoves to gas fires. We recommend that when slate is used with coal fires that the hearth is supplied in 3 equal pieces as this reduces the risk of cracking owing to excessive heat.
Hearths can be supplied in thicknesses from 25mm up 50mm but we suggest that if the hearth is more than 25mm thick that the slate is boxed with risers set back 12mm from the front edge. The risers are glued on in the factory and so if the hearth is to be supplied in one piece it will be supplied with the risers ready fixed so it is just as easy to fix in place as a solid piece.
Shelves
Slate shelves are ideal for the home or office and can be shaped to order to fit into corners to support Televisions or Computers. The slate can also be notched if required
Steps
Slate steps can enhance any property. These are made especially to order and can be shaped and notched if necessary.
Window boards
Slate window boards are ideal for conservatories or porches. These are made especially to order and can be angled or shaped if required.
